FAQs and Support
We understand that IT is an important part of your life and your business so please read on to discover a little more about what we’re aiming to achieve, what we’re about and a little info regarding our services and procedures.
For non-urgent queries / requests for information we advise using our website contact form and for urgent technical issues we advise you also call us on 01428 606395 to ensure that we are aware of the situation at the earliest point in time.
If you are a business considering a move to a new support provider then please call us on 01428 606395 or email us using our ‘contact form’ which can be found on our ‘Contact Us’ page. We offer no obligation free of charge IT reviews either in person at your premises or we can conduct them remotely, depending on your preference.
Please note that reviews in person would currently be subject to a brief Covid risk assessment.
Initial reviews typically take approximately one hour to complete and would involve us simply asking a few questions to enable us to understand your current situation and to gauge your requirements. We would be back in contact to either ask for additional information or to present you with a breakdown of our support options.
We continually onboard new clients with part of that process involving the liaising with existing support providers to transfer services over to ourselves. We offer free of charge consultancy sessions to enable us to meet you and to discuss your requirements so if you fancy a change or if you’re thinking of starting up a new venture then we’d love to hear from you.
There are several reasons why you should consider working with us. We are transparent and you can trust us. We are not in this for the short term and we have a fantastic reputation that we’re very keen to maintain.
We believe that recommendation is the key to success so please read through our Google Reviews which will give an idea of what we are like to work with and what we regularly deliver. As a team we have a vast amount of knowledge on a large variety of subjects plus we have a multitude of partners & contacts to call upon.
We’re a small team but don’t let that put you off thinking that we’re too small to offer effective and proactive support. We currently support businesses with up to 80 users working all over the world so please get in touch for a free of charge consultation as we might well be the supplier that you’ve been searching for!

If you believe that you might have given away a password then the best course of action would be to reset that password straight away. Once the password has been reset then you should consider implementing 2FA (2 factor authentication) and then reviewing your security practices / defences.
If you believe that a scam caller has convinced you to give them access to your computer then the first thing to do is to turn off the computer and hang up the telephone. Turning off your router might also be necessary but usually, turning off the computer is enough to break the link between your network and the scammer. Please then contact us or your preferred IT provider as soon as possible to get your computer checked and your security reviewed.
Please note that there should be no reason, even for a genuine company to request a password from you let alone request control of your computer. If you’re in any doubt that a caller or the sender of an email is genuine then you should politely decline / delete.
It very much depends on the type of services that we supply and the level of expertise required to deliver / support such a service. We do not maintain a public price list so we would ask you to call or email us with a description of your requirement and we can advise you accordingly as to what our charges might be.
Trusted PC Man offer secure remote connections to computers for the purpose of remote support.
Existing customers might already have single or multiple pre-agreed and established connections with us but if you are a new customer then one of our engineers may need to direct you to our FAQS AND SUPPORT page and ask for you to click on the ‘GET SUPPORT’ button.
The purpose of this FAQ is to make you aware of the process which follows once you click on the ‘GET SUPPORT’ button. Please be advised that this information is for clients running Microsoft Windows & not MACOS. MACOS customers will be directed over the phone or by email to a direct support URL.
Once the ‘GET SUPPORT’ button has been clicked, an executable file called TPCMRC.exe will be downloaded onto your computer. We will ask you to click on the newly downloaded TPCMRC.exe which will open N-able Take Control Applet. Please fill in the required details within the presented form and then click on the ‘Send Request’ button.
A request will be sent to our remote engineer control software which will be answered by the appropriate person who has arranged the support session with you.
Please note that the TPCMRC.exe file will be automatically deleted from your computer once the remote session has ended. Once the session has ended, Trusted PC Man will no longer have a remote connection to your device as this is a single session only service.
There may or may not be a chargeable fee applicable for remote sessions. Our engineers will ensure that all customers are fully aware if a charge for the remote session might be applied.
